A Sustainable Community Strategy for the borough

What are the strengths of Basingstoke and Deane? And what challenges do we face, now and looking further into the future? What do local people feel is important for their future? What is needed to create a successful community?

These are the basic questions that a Sustainable Community Strategy sets out to answer. It sets out the strategic direction for an area through a shared vision for the longer term - a common sense of purpose.

The Sustainable Community Strategy reflects local need and local ambition, providing a reference for all organisations in the borough, and a clear focus for working together towards shared priorities - helping to address the risks and challenges facing the area and its communities - whether social, economic or environmental.

The longer term Vision for Basingstoke and Deane has been agreed and can be viewed on the webpage Vision for Basingstoke and Deane

Partners, working through the Basingstoke Area Strategic Partnership agreed a Sustainable Community Strategy in 2006. This was called Pride in our Place and can be downloaded below.

The Sustainable Community Strategy was reviewed and updated by the Partners in 2011 and can also be viewed below.
