Voluntary & Community Sector Development Strategy
Officers are working closely with Basingstoke Voluntary Services to produce a Voluntary and Community Sector Development Strategy to further expand the skills and capacity of local Voluntary and Community Sector groups. Initial surveys of need were undertaken during the summer of 2005 and initial spending plans are now being finalised.
The Borough Council has to date provided £36,000 towards this work and is proposing a further £30,000 over the next three years. Further details of progress to date can be found in the attachment below.
In addition Officers are retaining an involvement in similar work undertaken on a Hampshire-wide basis as the Hampshire Infrastructure Development Plan is implemented. For further information about the IDP or VCS Development Strategy please contact Mark Thorpe on 01256 845624.
