Research and Information Newsletters
The newsletter brings you up to date facts and figures about the local population and the local economy. It provides a 6 monthly overview of the Borough`s people, its workforce and economic factors such as house prices, available jobs and unemployment. Where possible, this will be set in context with Hampshire, the South East and GB and short term trends identified. We hope that you will find the newsletter a useful reference tool, find it a helpful snapshot of certain aspects of the Borough, or consider it a starting point for more detailed research.
The 2001 Census provides a comprehensive set of statistics on how the people of the Borough live and work. There is more recent information available, since the Census, from some other sources - such as the Annual Population Survey, Annual Business Inquiry, the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings and Population Forecasts. These are collated, analysed and published at different times but comparison of each set of figures with another is still generally possible to give an overall picture of the population. The newsletters bring you the most up to date releases of information.
We can now bring you the Autumn 2006 newsletter which introduces data from the Hampshire County Council Population Forecast for 2007, Mid Year Population Estimates for 2005, the latest release of the Annual Population Survey (year ending March 2006), house prices for the quarter ending September 2006, up to date Job Seekers Allowance figures for the Borough from October 2006, and an update on occupations and the industry sectors in which people who live in the Borough are employed.
