General government grant funding in 2012/13 for Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is nine per cent less than in 2011/12. Even so, the council has decided there should be no increase in the borough's part of the Council Tax for this year.
Households in band D pay just 29p per day for a range of services. Once again this is the lowest council tax of all the districts in the county - and the 6th lowest in the whole of England.
