The closure of post offices in the borough has affected a number of communities in the borough. In many instances the closure of the post office also leads to the closure of the shop the post office was in.
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council have produced the Post Office and Community Shop Advice and Information Pack to help community groups looking to set up their own post office or shop by providing information on funding, premises, planning permission and training as well as providing contact details for direct help.
