One of the main aims of the Food and Safety Team is to help ensure that food sold to the public in the Basingstoke area is as safe as it can be.
We inspect all types of food premises in the Basingstoke area, including restaurants, takeaways, supermarkets and butchers shops. We do this to ensure that premises are complying with food safety and hygiene laws, offering advice and support to local businesses. We also investigate complaints regarding food premises and substandard food.
As part of our ongoing commitment to food hygiene education, we offer our own food hygiene courses in partnership with Basingstoke College of Technology.
