Licensing Policy 2011 - 2014
Under the Licensing Act 2003 the Licensing Authority is required to produce a Statement of Licensing Policy every three years. The statement of Licensing Policy must set out how the Licensing Authority will carry out its functions under the Act and how it will promote the four Licensing Objectives .
The four objectives are:
Prevention of Crime and Disorder
Prevention of Public Nuisance
Public Safety
Protection of Children from Harm
The council's Statement of Licensing Policy for 2011 to 2014 has now been approved and is attached below.
The Coalition Government has proposed changes to the Licensing Act 2003.
Any changes to the Act are likely to have an impact on this council's Statement of Licensing Policy. It has therefore been decided to carry out a major review of the Policy after any new proposals have been implemented.
We recommend that all applicants for licences under the Licensing Act 2003 carefully read the council's Licensing Policy before submitting an application.
