Charges for bulky waste collection

With effect from 2 April 2013 the charges for a bulky household waste collection are as per the tables below.

Residents in receipt of Income Support, Council Tax Benefit or Housing Benefit will qualify for a reduced (concessionary) charge.

Collections including items that a person would NOT normally take with them when they move home, for example fixtures and fittings, will be charged at a minimum cost of £50.31, this includes concessionary collections.

Requesting a bulky waste collection

You can request a bulky waste collection by telephoning our contact centre on 01256 844844, please ensure you have your credit/debit card details available when you call.

Customers in receipt of a qualifying benefit for the reduced concessionary charge will need to provide their benefit reference number.

If you wish to make payment by cheque please also phone our contact centre for advice on the charges applicable to your request.

Once your payment has been processed we will contact you to arrange your collection day.

Customers who wish to pay by cash are asked to visit the Civic Offices where the payment will be taken and a collection day arranged.

Note: Cash payments must not be sent through the post.

Free disposal at the Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC)

Alternatively you can dispose of your items free of charge at the Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) - Wade Road, Basingstoke.

The HWRCs are open every day of the year, except 25 and 26 December and 1 January. The opening times are:

April to September - 8am to 7pm
October to February - 8am to 4pm
March - 8am to 5pm
