Voluntary & Community Sector Development Strategy

Introduction

After auditing the support needs of local voluntary and community sector organisations, a strategy has been created which prioritises activities required to address these needs over a five year period (2008 - 2013).  This strategy is called ‘Improving Local Support for Voluntary & Community Organisations Strategy 2008 -2013’.

'Support needs' refers to activities which help these groups operate more effectively and/or efficiently or simply that make life easier for mangers and trustees.  Examples could include fund raising, IT or charity law advice or training, buildings, people or other resources.

This ‘Improving Local Support for Voluntary & Community Organisations Strategy 2008 -2013’ draws together needs identified by numerous voluntary organisations during consultation undertaken over three years. It also reflects central government's 'ChangeUp' agenda and compliments the work of Hampshire Voluntary Sector Consortium
