Older Persons Strategy

'Promoting Quality of Life for Older People in Basingstoke and Deane' was a Strategy developed by the Borough Council and its partners. It set out a vision for improving the quality life and well being for older people in the area and  identified the main principles to underpin all future service planning and delivery as -

  • Choice
  • Dignity
  • Independence
  • Well being and Safety
  • Quality
  • Equity

Subsequently Hampshire County Council has produced an Older People's Well-Being Strategy 'Ageing well in Hampshire' which was adopted in April 2011. As the principles, aims and objectives mirror those of this borough, the intention is not to review our existing strategy but to develop and adopt a local implementation plan for the borough and link it with Hampshire's Strategy.
