The Tadley Choirs have arranged to perform in concert at the Tadley Community Centre on Saturday 21 April 2012 to raise money for the Mayor's Charity Appeal which this year is supporting the Samaritans, Basingstoke, RadCan and the Basingstoke and District Disability Forum..
Refreshments will be held in the interval with monies going to the community centre.
A word from the producer
Making music together is a joyful experience, especially when our efforts can also prove of financial benefit for so many worthy causes.
Just a year ago the Tadley Singers would not have been in a position to agree to the ambitious programme we hope you will enjoy this evening, as they were then just a few weeks old! Whilst Kingsclere Singers and Hurst Singers have been established a ‘wee a bit longer’ than Tadley Singers it will make no difference this evening since we are all old friends and relish the opportunity of taking the stage together to entertain the audience.
Our Mayor and Mayoress, David and Amanda Leeks, whose charities will benefit from tonight’s music making, have proved to be quite splendid ambassadors for the borough of Basingstoke and Deane over the past months, carrying out many hundreds of engagements.
With just a few weeks to go before they hand over the chains of office we hope they will enjoy a very well earned rest and, hopefully, when reflecting on the events over the past year, will have very happy memories of tonight’s engagement.
