What are the strengths of Basingstoke and Deane? And what challenges do we face, now and looking further into the future? What do local people feel is important for their future? What is needed to create a successful community?
These are the basic questions that a Sustainable Community Strategy sets out to answer. It sets out the strategic direction for an area through a shared vision for the longer term - a common sense of purpose.
The Sustainable Community Strategy reflects local need, and local ambition, providing a reference for all organisations in the borough, and a clear focus for working collaboratively towards shared priorities - helping to address the risks and challenges facing the area and its communities - whether social, economic or environmental.

Partners, working through the Basingstoke Area Strategic Partnership, are currently revising the Sustainable Community Strategy in light of the Vision.
