The following reports and publications support the Profile Online in that they offer additional data, statistics and information about the borough and its communities or neighbourhoods. However, some of the publications also show how research and intelligence about the social, economic and environmental aspects of an area can be used to support evidence based policy making: how facts and figures can make a difference.
Annual Monitoring Report
The Annual Monitoring Report (AMR) is produced by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council as a requirement under the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 to form part of the Local Development Framework (LDF). The purpose of the AMR is to assess the implementation of the Local Development Scheme, the extent to which planning policies and objectives are being achieved and to monitor the social, economic and environmental indicators required by Government guidance.
The AMR supports the Profile Online with a range of indicators and statistics covering the supply of new homes, previously developed land, affordable housing, employment land and biodiversity. The AMR can be found at:

The Children and Young People's Plan (Hampshire)

The Community Safety Strategic Assessment
From August 2007 the three-yearly audits required by the Crime and Disorder Act were replaced with an annual strategic assessment. The assessment is designed to ensure that the local Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership (CDRP) is aware of local priorities and can change focus as problems develop in an area. The assessment aims to establish an accurate picture of current and emerging trends in an area and make comparisons with other areas. Its purpose is to assist the CDRP in developing its three year partnership plan.

Hampshire County Council's Demography team publishes a brief district level annual summary factsheet for each Hampshire district, covering population, age groups, births and deaths, dependency ratios, ethnicity and population density. Much of the data in the factsheets comes from the county council's latest Small Area Population Forecasts (SAPF), which cover the period up to six years ahead.
The latest Demographic Factsheets can be found at:

The Demographic Future of Hampshire
Hampshire County Council's Demographic Future of Hampshire report is based on the county council's long-term projections which were prepared in 2006 using dwelling numbers put forward in the draft South East Plan. These projections differ from those subsequently prepared to reflect the dwelling numbers in the Government's response to the draft plan. The report deals with the likely size and characteristics of the population of Hampshire and the cities of Portsmouth and Southampton, and the effects of expected changes over the period to 2026. The report covers fertility, mortality, migration, ethnicity, age distribution, marital status and household composition, bringing together a wealth of demographic data both nationally and locally with the aim of providing a picture of past and current demographic trends. As well as setting out the overall picture for Hampshire, differences between the districts are explored, together with national trends and some international trends.

Hampshire County Council has produced an analysis of the Indices of Deprivation 2010 (ID 2010 - which was itself published in March 2011) for the county and for its districts and wards.
The Indices of Deprivation 2010 show the extent of disadvantage across various themes or "domains", the Index of Multiple Deprivation and local authority rankings. The Indices reveal where pockets of deprivation occur within the county and show how local authorities, wards and Lower layer Super Output Areas (LSOA`s) compare in the national context.

This summary profile to 2026 provides a graphical overview at local authority level of the demographic trends reflected in Hampshire County Council's Long Term Population Projections published in autumn 2008. Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy
Basingstoke Area Strategic Partnership's Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy represents a local, holistic, multi-agency approach to improving the quality of life of people in the Borough. It aims to ensure that by 2025 no-one living in Basingstoke and Deane is disadvantaged by where they live, and supports and complements the Community Strategy "Pride In Our Place". In identifying the communities experiencing a lower quality of life, the reasons for this and priority themes to address, the Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy is supported by a firm research and evidence base and so is a good source of very local level data about certain communities in the Borough. As such it is a good example of how data analysis can drive priorities and change outcomes.
