The Basingstoke Town Conservation Area was designated in 1977 by
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, in recognition of the special architectural and historic interest of the town centre. The Conservation Area includes the core commercial area and the adjoining areas of Glebe Gardens, Eastrop, Goldings House and its former parkland (now War Memorial Park).
This document was adopted as Supplementary Planning Guidance by the Borough of Basingstoke and Deane on 17 July 2003 and complements the policies of the Borough Local Plan (review).
