A key component of the Local Development Framework (LDF) is the evidence base, upon which all subsequent documents within the LDF will be based. The purpose of establishing an evidence base is to ensure that all future decisions are based on robust and up-to-date information.
Please click on the sections in the menu on the left to find out more about the evidence base studies which have been undertaken. In addition, please note that background information regarding housing numbers is set out in a report to Councillors of June 2011, which can be accessed by clicking here.

N.B. The evidence base has been produced in conformity with previous national guidance, which was provided in the form of Planning Policy Statements (PPSs) and Planning Policy Guidance (PPGs). The National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), published by the Government on the 27 March 2012, has since replaced these PPSs and PPGs.
