South East Plan

The Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government formally revoked the South East Plan (Regional Spatial Strategy) on 6 July 2010.  However, this action was formally quashed by the High Court on 10 November 2010, with the result that the South East Plan remains a part of the 'development plan'.

A copy of a letter from the Chief Planning Officer at the Department for Communities and Local Government is attached below for information.  This sets out the Government's advice on this matter and sets out its intentions with regard to the proposed Localism Bill.  Also attached is an extract from the proposed Localism Bill which is referred to in the Chief Planning Officer's letter.

In terms of background information, a copy of the borough's submissions to the examination of the South East Plan can also be viewed via the attachments below.
