All of these SPDs have been adopted by the borough council and are material considerations in the determination of planning applications. In preparing each SPD, consultation at the following statutory stages has been undertaken:
- Issues and Options consultation
- Draft SPD
- Final SPD
Recent SPD Consultation
A consultation has recently been undertaken on draft Residential Amenity Design Guidance and draft minor amendments to the Design and Sustainability Supplementary Planning Document (18 July to 5 September 2011). For more details please view the Consultation page.
A further part of the process is the undertaking of a Sustainability Appraisal in order to consider and test the economic, environmental and social impacts of the guidance.

Additional Guidance Leaflets
Please note, in addition to the above SPDs, the borough council also has a range of guidance leaflets which cover topics such as advice on the historic environment, design and access statements, smoking shelters and planning obligations.
