Affordable Housing SPD
The borough council has adopted an Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) on Affordable Housing. The SPD is available to download by clicking on the image below. This SPD supports the Saved Affordable Housing Policies (C2 and D8) of the Basingstoke and Deane Borough Local Plan 1996-2011, which was adopted in July 2006. It outlines the background and justification for the Saved Affordable Housing Policies and provides more information about how the Saved Policies are implemented through the Development Control process. The SPD was adopted at the meeting of the Cabinet in July 2007 and follows periods of consultation at the Issues and Options stage (Sept/Oct 2005) and on a draft SPD (May/June 2007).
PPS3 - Changes to the Affordable Housing Thresholds
Following the publication of PPS3: Housing by the Government in December 2006, the threshold for seeking the inclusion of affordable housing on sites in Basingstoke Town was reduced from 25 dwellings as set out in Saved Policy C2 of the Basingstoke and Deane Borough Local Plan to 15 dwellings.
