Spring 2012
Merton Rise
In January 2009, HCC took the decision to withdraw the housing land at Merton Rise from the market. This decision, along with the expiry of the outline planning permission in June 2009, has given the County Council an opportunity to re-plan phases 2-5 of the Merton Rise development with a view to make certain of its delivery as soon as market conditions improve.
A new outline planning application for the remaining undeveloped land was approved in January 2012.

The development site is approximately 29 Hectares with the potential for up to 784 dwellings and a local centre of up to 1,500m2. Hampshire County Council have marketed the land for sale to developers and is currently under offer.
166 dwellings have already been constructed as part of Phase 1, along with Chineham Lane Local Park and Everest Community College.
