Review of the Telecommunications Code of Best Practice
Basingstoke and Deane has an active role in the steering group which has been convened by the ODPM to oversee a review of the Code of Best Practice. The Practice was published by the Government in 2001. The review is being carried out by ARUP/University of Reading, and as part of the process, Basingstoke and Deane has been interviewed as a good practice case study.
Mobile Operators Association Annual Stakeholder Roundtable meeting
Basingstoke and Deane has held a seat on this annual meeting for the last two years, where current issues for the telecommunications industry as a whole are discussed, and issues moved forward for action. This has also fed into the review of the Ten Commitments which Deloitte and Touche have carried out on behalf of the MOA.
Basingstoke and Deane has also provided evidence to both rounds of this process, using case studies and drawing on officer experience to inform the process.
