Mobile Home Parks

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is responsible for monitoring the conditions of all the park home sites within the borough.

Information for prospective new site owners

Firstly, you will need to obtain the appropriate planning approval for the land to be used to site a mobile home.  Once you have received this permission you then need to apply for a site licence from the local authority.  Once you have both these approvals in place you can then site your caravan or mobile home on the land.

Information for prospective new home owners

Should you wish to buy a park home on one of the sites in the borough, you should contact the site owner direct. Their contact details should be displayed on the notice board at the entrance to the site.

Once you have purchased this site, you then have to apply to have the site licence transferred into your name.  It is an offence to operate a site without a valid licence.

Information for current home occupiers

Should you wish to make any alteration or improvement to your park home you should seek the consent of the site owner. The site owner should approach the licensing authority for its approval.

The site owner may refuse permission should the proposal result in a contravention of the Site Licence conditions. Should the site owner unreasonably withhold consent, or you wish to make a complaint about the site or site owner, please contact a member of the Housing Standards Team on 01256 845331.
