The
Green Flag Award is the national standard for parks and green
spaces in England and Wales and both recognises and rewards the
best green spaces in the country. Winning a Green Flag Award brings excellent publicity especially since both the media and the public are becoming increasingly aware that a site flying a Green Flag is a high quality green space.
Green Flag 2011
Due to our continued high standard in the Green Flag awards in previous years for Eastrop and War Memorial Park, we have automatically been awarded our Green Flags again this year and will now only be formally assessed every two years. We will however receive an unannounced mystery visit to assess our standards over the coming year. The judges will be back next year to see how we've progressed. This is a great result and demonstrates the fantastic support and commitment of all the staff, visitors and volunteers who help make our parks such enjoyable places to visit.
