Festival Place is Hampshire’s regional shopping destination. It is situated in the heart of Basingstoke town centre and is home to 165 stores, 28 restaurants, bars and cafes, a sports centre, library, multi screen cinema and night club. It is minutes off junction 6 of the M3 with 3,000 safe, secure car parking spaces above the shopping centre. If travelling by rail, Festival Place, is three minutes' walk from Basingstoke train station.
Festival Place hosts a series of regional events including a home and garden exhibition, a food festival and a festival of fashion. Many stores open until 8pm weekdays.
Other shopping attractions in Basingstoke include the The Malls, which has undergone a £5 million facelift including a new roof canopy. It is home to Primark, Boots and WH Smith among other shops.
The older part of the town offers regular markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays, independent shops, restaurants and cafes.
Restaurants and Cafes
Many of the bars and pubs in the area serve food at lunchtimes and early evening. The town centre hosts restaurants catering for most tastes including Italian, Chinese, Indian, Thai, and French. There are also fast food outlets in the area.
Pubs and Bars
Basingstoke and Deane offers a variety of town bars, wine bars and country pubs. There are a number of bars in Basingstoke's Top of Town area and the borough has many country pubs.
