Sports awards

Our borough is fortunate to have a very strong sporting community, which is often demonstrated in competition.  The borough council, Local Sports Council and Basingstoke Sports Trust all play a big part in recognising and supporting this at the annual Sports Awards.

The annual Sports Awards are coordinated by the Local Sports Council and are hosted by the Apollo Hotel.  The awards ceremony celebrates the achievements of clubs, teams, coaches, officials and individuals involved in sport locally.  Full details of these awards and previous winners are available via: www.basingstokelsc.org.uk/

The borough council allocates funds for grant aid for the support and development of local sportsmen and women.  The Basingstoke Sports Trust (Sports Centre) and Community Leisure Trust (Aquadrome and Tadley Pool) also award scholarships to a selection of top athletes, which provide them with free access to a personal trainer at their respective facilities.

The Sports Awards, grant aid and scholarship schemes provide a coordinated approach to provide support for the local sporting community.
