Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is responsible for the enforcement of sixteen pay and display public car parks. Fifteen operate from Monday to Sunday and cater for up to 1,725 vehicles. Eastlands car park which operates on Saturdays only, caters for a further 170 vehicles.
Ten of the car parks have qualified for the ParkMark safer parking award; Central car park, Feathers Yard, Albert Yard, Jacobs Yard, Castons Yard, Southern Road, Castons, Sarum Hill and the visitors and staff car parks on the council campus.
This award is given by the Police to car parks that have measures in place that deter criminal activity and create a safer environment for both car park users and their vehicles. Further details of this scheme are at

Free parking is available for motorcycles in designated
areas at:
- Alencon Link car park
- Joices Yard car park
- Church Street
- on the paved area adjacent to the entrance to Central car park

*** There is a small car park at Crossborough Hill where several bays are available free of charge for up to three hours for customers using the leisure facilities in the War Memorial Park.

Festival Place , North Hampshire Hospital and Basingstoke railway station parking facilities are not council-operated.

Park and Ride with Centre Shuttle
There is a park and ride facility located at the West Ham Leisure Park which provides free all-day parking and costs just £1.80 for unlimited daily travel to and from the Railway Station. For more information see the Centre Shuttle web page.
ROMANSE (live parking availability information)
Basingstoke has joined the ROMANSE (ROad MANagement System for Europe) network. This means that up to the minute information on parking availability is provided for many of the town's public car parks. The system also provides 30 minute and 1 hour forecasts of the number of spaces expected to be available.
