Shelters and waiting furniture at bus stops play an important role in promoting the attractiveness of bus travel.
In Basingstoke & Deane, there are a number of different types of bus shelter. For maintenance purposes the Borough Council is responsible for urban bus shelters, with Parish Councils being responsible for rural shelters.
In addition to the above, Clear Channel also maintain certain shelters (mainly in the urban area) which are characterised by having adverts and lighting.
