Information, Instruction and Training

The Health and Safety at Work, etc Act 1974 and The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 place general duties on employers and others to provide information, instruction and training, in order to ensure health and safety. In addition, there are a number of regulations dealing with particular hazards or industries that have SPECIFIC DUTIES. If those specific hazards are associated with your work, the information and training required by the specific regulations must be provided.

Training
Helping people learn how to do a particular task.

Everyone needs an awareness of health and safety and some degree of formal training is usually required.
