Large shops (those over 280m2) are limited to opening for only 6 hours on a Sunday.They may trade for any six hour period between 10.00am and 6.00pm. There are no such restrictions on shops under this size.
All large shops must display their trading hours both inside and outside the premises.
The Environmental Health and Licensing Team are responsible for ensuring that the relevant shops trade only within their displayed hours and for no longer the the permitted maximum of six hours.
Large shops may not open on Easter Sunday or Christmas day if it falls on a Sunday.
