London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games - plant hire and builders merchant facilities

The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) invites expressions of interest for the procurement of plant hire and builders merchant facilities.

The Contracting Authority intends to award licenses to two separate organisations to provide combined facilities (plant hire, builders merchant and competency training) in two locations on the Olympic Park. The successful applicants will then be permitted to operate from these locations during the construction phase of the Olympic Park.

For full details please see the prequalification questionnaire (PQQ) documentation via the eTendering website https://etenders.london2012.com/web/login.shtml

The deadline for the receipt of expressions of interest and completed PQQ submissions is 12pm on Monday 6 October 2008.

London 2012 Business Network

London 2012 has launched the ‘London 2012 Business Network’, that will help companies compete for London 2012 Games' business opportunities direct with London 2012 or with suppliers in its supply chain.

The London 2012 Business Network consists of three core elements:

  • Information: on London 2012 business opportunities including policies and guidelines
  • Events: national programme of business events run by London 2012
  • CompeteFor: an online resource that gives access to London 2012 related business opportunities

You can register your organisation on CompeteFor. This simple process will give you access to many potential London 2012 opportunities that specifically suit your business.

The Network is accessed through www.london2012.com/business
The core of the Network is the new ‘CompeteFor’ service, a business ‘dating agency’ that will match companies to thousands of opportunities supplying London 2012 contractors. Up to a fifth of London 2012 supply chain opportunities are expected to go through the CompeteFor system.

Click here to register for CompeteFor.

How 'CompeteFor' works

The ODA and the LOCOG will advertise their direct contract opportunities online through CompeteFor and direct London 2012 contractors appointed will be encouraged to advertise their supply chain opportunities through the system. For example the Olympic Stadium construction contractor ‘Team Stadium’ has opened the service with an advert for their site accommodation cleaning contract.

Companies at every level of the London 2012 supply chain will be encouraged to advertise their supplier opportunities through CompeteFor.
