Community Centres and Village Halls

Not just another building

Community Centres and Village Halls play an people sitting around
increasingly important role in bringing local communities together.  They offer a focal point for neighbourhood activities and a base for local groups. The Borough Council works in partnership with the volunteers that are responsible for the management of all these facilities, which enables local people to determine and realise the sort of activities they need for themselves. 

With over 20 community centres and 60 Village Halls there’s no shortage of community based activities in Basingstoke and Deane.  Playgroups, study groups and special interest clubs such as scouts and guides, martial arts and yoga are popular activities that take place within easy walking distance of home.  The versatility of these buildings permits a wide range of uses from simple meetings to mini conferences and birthday parties to wedding receptions.
