Community Safety Grants
Conditions of the Community Safety Grants
The Community Safety Grant Scheme of the Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is intended to benefit local communities by reducing crime and disorder, the fear of crime and encouraging social inclusion. If your project can achieve this under one of the following themes you may be aligible for support.
Reducing Crime By and Against Young People
Projects to reduce bullying and truancy or improve social inclusion
- Mentoring projects, plans to reduce substance abuse by young people
Reducing Violent Crime
- Anger management courses/ community involvement programme to ostracize violence
- Parenting skills
Create Safer Communities
- Encouragement of crime reporting
- Community education in schools
- Target persistent offenders
- Improved built environment - ‘Secured by Design’
- Communities working with the police
Reducing the Fear of Crime
- Community plays highlighting how peoples perceptions affect the community
- Better-designed estates
