The Involved Communities Strategy
Getting people more involved in making decisions that affect them is the aim of the Involved Communities Strategy.
The document sets out how the council will work closely with other public services and partners to consult and involve residents and the local community in the decision-making process and ensure that their views are used to improve services and inform the development of policies.
The strategy has been developed through the Local Strategic Partnership, brings together a range of public services, such as councils, health services, emergency services and housing associations, as well as schools and colleges, voluntary groups and the business community.
The action plan, detailed in the strategy sets out a number of important objectives for the organisations serving the borough of Basingstoke and Deane.
The council also has its own action plan for improving its community involvement work.
