Position Statement on Social Inclusion
This Position Statement sets out our commitment to promoting social inclusion in the Borough of Basingstoke and Deane.
The Statement reflects our vision for the Borough to be a place where people of all ages are and feel safe at home, in their communities, at work, while enjoying leisure pursuits and while travelling.
In striving for this vision we are:-
- Focussing on what matters to local people - concentrating on doing what makes the most difference to people of the Borough.
- Providing great customer services - setting high standards of quality and customer satisfaction with easy access available for all.
- Involving the people of the Borough - listening to your views and including individuals, communities and partner organisations in decision making and planning for the future.
- Exploring innovative ways of delivering services - finding new ways to improve and develop efficient services and benefits for the community.
We have used the Government’s definition of social inclusion to identify the areas of policy significance for the area, providing a snap shot of practical examples of how we make social inclusion a priority in all our strategies, policies and practices.
