Town and Country Planning Act 1990 Section 106 Agreements
Section 106 Planning Agreements secure community infrastructure to meet the needs of residents in new developments and/or to mitigate the impact of new developments upon existing community facilities.
Shown below (for the current financial year) is the total amount of contributions actually received via Section 106 Agreements and the amount secured ie not yet received but developers are obliged to pay at some point in the future.
Financial contributions towards community infrastructure are used, for example, for the provision or enhancement of community halls and play areas, for the maintenance of open space, and for the enhancement of our transport infrastructure.
Examples of non-financial community infrastructure are given in the ‘Other obligations’ column.
