Debbie has recently been promoted to the post of Paralegal in the Property Portfolio Team, having spent many years as a Legal Secretary at Basingstoke and Deane.  She is currently studying for Level 2 of the Ilex Paralegal Certificate.  Debbie deals with routine matters relating to Landlord and Tenant, conveyancing, mortgage redemptions, the property portfolio and provides general support to other members of the team.

Jennifer is a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives and has the specific task of dealing with all legal matters relating to the freehold and leasehold disposal and development of land within the Council's property portfolio.  Jennifer also deals with transactions, advice and litigation relating to Landlord and Tenant in connection with the Council's property portfolio.

Melanie read law at the University of Derby and completed the Legal Practice Course with commendation before beginning her training contract with Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council in June 2006.
Her first seat was with the Planning and Regulatory team and then moved to to Caroline's team finally finishing with the Portfolio Management Team. Melanie qualified in January 2008.

Sarah specialises in Town and Country Planning matters, dealing particularly with Lawful Development Certificate applications, Section 106 Planning Agreements and enforcement matters.
Sarah works part-time; her usual days of work being Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Viv has worked in Legal & Democratic Services for 14 years, initially in an administrative capacity but was promoted to the role of Paralegal in the Property Portfolio team. Viv dealt with routine legal and quasi-legal tasks such as mortgage redemptions, car loans and routine leases and agreements, beofre moving into the Planning and Regulatory team.
Viv now deals with the preparation and drafting of road traffic orders, S106 planning agreements, Enforcement and Goods Vehicles Operators Licences and objections.

Viv undertook a Legal Assistant's course before studying level 2 and 3 of the ILEX Paralegal Certificate and has passed both with merit. Viv also holds the European Computer Driving Licence.

Dave read Computation at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology and worked in IT before retraining in law. He completed the Graduate Diploma in Law with commendation and the Legal Practice Course with distinction at BPP in London before beginning his training contract with Basingstoke and Deane in July 2006. His first seat has been with the Portfolio Management Team and he will shortly be moving to the Planning and Regulatory Team.

Jo read International Politics & Strategic Studies at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth and worked for a number of years in both the public and private sectors.  In 2003 she began to retrain and completed a two year LLB.  In 2006 she completed the Legal Practice course with a distinction at the College of Law, Chester and began her training contract with Basingstoke and Deane in July 2006.

As a trainee Jo works across all 3 legal teams.

Julie read Business Studies at Bournemouth University and worked for a number of years in the Insurance Industry, qualifying as an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute during this time. In 2003 she began to retrain and passed the Graduate Diploma in Law in 2005 and the Legal Practice Course in 2007 at De Montfort University in Leicester. She began her training contract with Basingstoke and Deane in July 2007.
