Highways

As Hampshire County Council were carrying out a review of highway network and traffic management services, it was agreed that a Best Value Review of the Borough’s highways service should be conducted iat the same time. The County Council review was designed to improve the management and delivery of network and traffic management throughout the County, which had since 1974 been based on a series of agency agreements with District Councils, including Basingstoke and Deane. The Review received Cabinet approval in November 2002. The Audit Commission has not inspected it. You can see the full outcome report by clicking on the link below.

As a result of the review, an improvement plan was produced. We have now changed our approach and any outstanding actions have been included in the 3-year service plan for the Business Unit. The document below shows which actions have been completed, which are no longer relevant and which have been transferred to the service plan.
