Local Community

To ensure the Council is providing responsive services that meet the needs of the local community, it is essential that people are involved in local decision making, so that they can influence decision that affect their lives.

It was felt that if the Council could improve the ways in which it identified community needs it would be able to target resources more effectively. The objectives of the Review were to develop a Community Engagement Strategy and recommend how the Council can improve priority setting, access to services, community involvement and two-way communication on strategic and specific issues.

The Review received Cabinet approval in May 2003. It has not been inspected by the Audit Commission. You can see the full outcome report by clicking on the link below.
