Neighbourhood Renewal

The Council has made significant investment in renewal and regeneration activities over a number of years, to ensure that all residents are given the opportunities they need to enjoy a higher quality of life. Neighbourhood Renewal was selected as for review because, although the Council has been carrying out significant regeneration activity, it was clear that it was ad-hoc and largely uncoordinated. A full assessment was needed, to ensure that resources are being directed at areas of priority need and that early interventions are initiated to stem signs of decline in other areas.

The Review received Cabinet approval in November 2002. The Audit Commission has not inspected it. You can see the full outcome report by clicking on the link below.

As a result of the review, an improvement plan was produced. We have now changed our approach and any outstanding actions have been included in the 3-year service plan for the Business Unit.
The document below shows which actions have been completed, which are no longer relevant and which have been transferred to the service plan.
