The Government sets Performance Indicators that all Councils must report each year. They are designed to give a consistent view of performance across local government and allow a basis for national comparison. If you would like more information about the performance indicators set by the Government please click on the Related Link to National Indicator Guidance.
The tables in the documents attached below show our performance to the end of August 2009 against current and future targets for all relevant National and Local Indicators. On 1 April 2008 the Best Value Performance Indicators (BVPIs) were replaced by a new set of National Indicators, though we retained some BVPIs as 'local' indicators. Although a small number of National Indicators are the same as the old BVPIs, in most cases they are completely new or the definition has changed significantly. Consequently, information previously included which compared our performance with other Districts has been removed as it is either outdated or irrelevant. We will endeavor to include some comparison information when nationwide data for 2008/09 for the new National Indicators is available.
Our performance for the second quarter, up until the end of September 2009, will be published by the end of December 2009.
