Project Integra

Project Integra

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is a member of Project Integra, Hampshire's waste management partnership.

Project Integra comprises the 11 district councils in Hampshire; the two city councils, Portsmouth and Southampton; Hampshire County Council and Veolia Hampshire, the private waste management contractor.

We work together to manage waste generated by households in Hampshire, gaining benefits from integration, scale, synergy and influence. Our efforts were rewarded in 2001, when we were awarded Beacon Status for Dealing With Waste, by the then Department of the Environment, Transport and Regions.

Hampshire Joint Municipal Waste Management Strategy

Project Integra has developed a Joint Municipal Waste Management Strategy which has been developed within the context of the ground-breaking document More From Less. The strategy sets out how Project Integra partners will face up to the challenges ahead - climate change, population growth, landfill capacity in Hampshire, recycling targets and cost.

The strategy and the More From Less document can be downloaded below.
