Housing Consultation

Housing, Homelessness and Benefits Strategy 2008 - 2011

Consultation has now closed for the Housing, Homelessness and Benefits Strategy. Thank you to all who responded.

Responses and comments received by 31st March were presented to Councillors as part of the strategy consultation and helped to form an action plan. Comments received since since March formed part of the information presented to Cabinet in June alongside the Draft Strategy.

The Strategy has now been agreed by Cabinet, and will be published following its presentation to Full Council in October.

The Strategy will lay out our plans for housing provision in Basingstoke and Deane over the next 3 years, and will give an overview of:

- The way planning, development and regeneration will be used to provide homes in the borough
- How the Council and its partners will prevent homelessness and deal with housing allocations
- Plans to meet the needs of vulnerable people
- How the existing housing stock will be improved

Although the official consultation has now ended, if you would like to have your say on the services we provide, please contact Nick Molyneux, Housing Strategy and Enabling Officer, on 01256 845638 or at nick.molyneux@basingstoke.gov.uk
