I am a Resident

Do you live in the borough, or are you thinking of relocating to the area? If so this section is for you.

You will find a range of information aimed at residents for example how to register to vote, finding out when your bin is collected, what you can and can’t recycle, local community facilities and what you can do in your spare time.

If you need housing advice, the website includes a range of information on what options are available and what you need to do to join the housing waiting list. And if you need information on what benefits you may be entitled to – you’ll find it in the Housing and Benefits section.

What do you do in your spare time? The area has lots to offer including a Leisure Park with the Aquadrome swimming pools, Planet Ice, Milestones living history museum, Odeon multiplex cinema, Gala bingo, Loddon Vale indoor bowls club, BowlPlex ten pin bowling and much more.

There is also the What’s on guide published online and as brochures, distributed to a range of hotspots across the borough, outlining activities and entertainment from fun days to outdoor theatre productions and live music festivals.

For those who want to sample the delights of local produce, why not visit the farmers’ market which comes to town six times a year.

If you need information on learning and training, check out the One Stop Shop for learning, skills and employment. It includes advice on how to get back into work, local learning opportunities and childcare.

Want advice on a range of services such as births, marriages and deaths, health and wellbeing and much more, visit the Directgov website.

Want to have your say on how the council develops the borough? Why not get involved… the council needs views about a range of topics throughout the year. By getting involved, you are having your voice heard.

If you have a question you want to ask, or if you want to share information with the council, get in touch. We want to improve things for you, without knowing what you think we can’t get better.
