Grant Aid and Scholarships
This year the borough is celebrating the 22nd anniversary of it's Sports Grant Aid Scheme. Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council have invested over £118,000 in the scheme to assist sports men and women in their efforts to achieve full National, International and Olympic honours. The borough council in partnership with the Local Sports Council who administer the scheme, are particularly proud to be able to assist local athletes in this special way.
Applicants must be at least County Standard or equivalent within their sport and priority will be given to Under 25’s. Grants are available to provide assistance with travelling and coaching expenses, qualifications, plus equipment and clothing requirements.
Grant Aid applicants are also considered for the local and county Sports Awards and for scholarships or support from local facilities including the Sports Centre, Aquadrome, Tadley Pool, Beechdown or Fitness First.
Applications should be fully supported by the coach and club of the applicant and also include any other additional information that would support the grant application e.g. Press Releases. Information is also required regarding the club's name and address and contact details of an appropriate club representative in order for further information to be obtained if necessary.
Applications are welcome annually between 1st September and 1st December. Application forms will be available below. Alternatively please request one from Sue Parker at the Borough Council on 01256 845685.
