Your health and wellbeing is our priority
We want to improve the delivery of services to the residents of our borough through a high performing, healthy and motivated workforce.
As an employer we are continually reviewing and introducing new initiatives to maintain your good health and wellbeing, both in and out of work. We have a dedicated Wellbeing group whose aim is to promote, engage and raise awareness of work life balance, healthier lifestyles and to organise events and various health campaigns.
Workplace health, safety and wellbeing toolkit
The council believes that wellbeing at work is important because healthy and motivated staff are more likely to deliver great services to our residents. The workplace should be a supportive and productive environment, but it should also be fun!
The toolkit has been created by the Workplace Wellbeing Group and aims to give you and your team some ideas on activities that you can organise as a team which can help make the workplace a fun place to be and raise your team’s morale in the process.
Your toolkit to make a difference:
- What activities can I or my team organise?
- What challenges are out there?
- What things can we collect together?
- How far can we walk?
- Where can I get help?

Update on previous events
Annual staff rounders tournament
It was a record turnout with 11 teams, and over 80 participants entering the tournament from across the council. Even the rain didn’t seem to dampen spirits. Winners on the night were:
Catch of the day – Paul Carver (Telugu Titans) – who managed to juggle with the ball before catching it.
Most Enthusiastic Player – Finn, son of Emma Hayton (all the way to third base)
Mr Bump and Unluckiest Player – Gavin Mansbridge (Telugu Titans)…for obvious reasons
Most Improved Player – Louise Stoner (swing and miss) who managed to make it to first base this year, hopefully her prize will ensure she gets half a rounder next year!
Winning Team – unfortunately as this game ended due to injury, it was agreed that the winning team were the Telugu Titans who entered the final with 23.5 points - beating Environmental Health team’s 22 points.
