What's new in Development Control
April 2008 - 1APP
The new National 1APP forms and requirements are now in use at Basingstoke and Deane and will be mandatory for use on or after 6 April 2008.
Planning Application Fees
Central Government has increased fees for planning applications received on or after 6 April 2008. Information on the fee required is held alongside the 1APP forms and requirements.
In addition to a general increase in fees a new fee has been introduced in relation to submissions for any consent, agreement, or approval required by a planning condition. The fee chargeable is £85 per request or £25 where the related permission was for extending or altering a dwelling house or other development in the curtilage of a dwelling house. A fee is payable for each submission made regardless of the number of conditions you are seeking approval for.
For example, if you have received planning permission to extend your home and planning conditions requires you to have the materials and landscape details approved a fee of £25 would be required if you submitted the required information together. A further fee of £25 will be required for any further submissions made.
A fee is payable for conditions related to planning permissions and reserved matter applications only. For example, a fee would not be required for conditions attached to listed building consents and conservation area consents.
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council will be introducing this fee for any submissions made on or after 1st May 2008.
You may wish to use the standard form to accompany your submission or set out your requests in writing clearly identifying the relevant planning application and condition(s) which you seek approval for.
The requirement to make this charge is set out in Government Circular 04/2008 - Planning Related Fees at paragraphs 123 - 131.
