Supplementary Planning Guidance
The following Supplementary Planning Guidance notes have been produced and adopted by the Borough Council in order to guide development affecting these important heritage assets.

The Historic Environment: Listed Buildings
The Council has adopted this document as Supplementary Planning Guidance, to provide advice on many aspects of the maintenance and improvement of listed buildings. The SPG also provides guidance on the law and listed buildings, and on how to apply for Listed Building Consent.
For more detailed guidance on listed buildings, or to discuss a particular building, please contact one of the Conservation Officers within the Regeneration and Design Unit (see contact below).

The Historic Environment: Conservation Areas
The Council has adopted this document as Supplementary Planning Guidance, to provide general advice on the preservation and enhancement of these special areas.

The Borough Council has produced a Conservation Area Appraisal for each of the above Conservation Areas, and has adopted these as Supplementary Planning Guidance.
