Public Art

In accordance with the Council’s percent for Art Policy, developers will be required to incorporate commissioned works of art and craft within their proposals. The role of this policy is to highlight and develop the identity of local communities, make them more visually stimulating and improve their vitality and viability.

Wherever possible, the local community should be involved in generating ideas suitable for their community. Potential materials that could be used for public art include: hard or soft landscaping, sculptures and fine art, paving, glass and metalwork, brickwork, signage and street furniture.
