- Development of transport strategies for the borough
- Central advisory point on transport issues
- Act as agent for the Highway Authority (Hampshire County Council) in providing highways advice on planning applications

- Provides an engineering design and implementation service to the Council and external partners
- Act as agent for the Highway Authority (Hampshire County Council) for traffic management issues accross the borough.
- Develops and implements traffic orders relating to on-street parking controls and car park orders
- Arranges temporary traffic orders (such as road closures)
