Disabled parking bays in residential roads

Residents can apply to have a disabled parking bay marked in a safe location on the road near to their property. A bay will usually be provided if the applicant satisfies the following criteria;

  • A resident at the property must be registered disabled and be in possession of a Disabled Drivers Parking Badge
  • A resident at the property must own and drive a motor vehicle
  • The applicant must not have access to off street parking, unless in special circumstances.

To ensure any disabled bay can be enforced by the Council's Parking team, a Permanent Traffic Regulation Order will be drafted on an annual basis.
