Gritting of roads and snow clearance

In most circumstances, responsibility of the gritting of roads and footpaths rests with
Hampshire County Council (the Highway Authority). The following County Council webpages
set out their responsibilities and how they prioritise roads for gritting;

Please be aware that the Borough Council assists the County Council wherever possible by targeting the following areas for gritting:
      • Footways in/around the town centre, local centres and leading to/from elderly/disabled people’s accommodation.
      • Borough owned town centre car parks.
      • The civic campus.
      • Other facilities (such as Worting Road Cemetery, the Leisure Park and council owned business parks).
